about
Liberal is an ode to freedom. Freedom of being in all forms without affecting anybody. Freedom starting from our being to a political and sociological universal level.
This whole track sounds like we recorded it with a whole mariachi band, but this is just 3 women playing all the instruments, Mireya Ramos putting her magic into the Guitarrón (Mexican guitar bass), and violin harmonies. Julie Acosta in the Trumpet, and trumpet harmonies; and finally me, with vihuela (Mexican folk rhythm guitar), guitar, whistle, and vocals. I had arrangements for this song, but Julie came up with the Trumpet arrangements you hear in the track, and Mireya Ramos was key collaborating in co-arranging this track with me.

The time to set sail has come
I’ve decided the sail leaves now
From the island of pain and misery
Where I had once drifted
The time to fly has come
To fly and dream high through the vast sky
To a brand new live episode
We must only imagine it, and it will come
Routine Induces me to fail
To keep being part of an ordinary flock
And even when ignored, It won’t go away
For being part of who I am
This is the latest disease
Man to man against brothers, humanity
It has never been enough with the bread already taken
Bread that was once offered to you the same way
Ideas flow as we speak
But Love doesn’t flow anymore
When love united us as one
Like the beings on a sunday mass
Under the sun
That has never existed
and is yet to flare
Under the sun
